An official signing ceremony on establishing the Vietnam-Netherlands Water and Environment Centre (VINWATER) was held on December 16 in Hanoi, on the sidelines of the third meeting of the Vietnam-Netherlands Inter-governmental Committee on climate change adaptation and water management.

Vietnam – Netherlands Centre for Water and Environmentwas established with a view to promote cooperation between Vietnam and the Netherlands in the field of water serve as a reliable bridge for Vietnam in the application of international solutions to water and the environment issues.

Speaking at the ceremony , Professor Nguyen Quang Kim , Principal of Water Resources University , said: ” VINWATER highlighted the importance of technical skills , creativity , quality and information technology. Netherlands have successfully proteced their lands from ocean and sea encroachment work, which has contributed tobuilding its fame for water management and flood prevention work. With the cooperation and support from my colleagues at the University of TUDelft Netherlands , we will jointly deploy and apply international solutions in the context of Vietnam’senvironment to meet the needs of domestic and international organizations , as well as addressing the challenges of the water sector in Vietnam ” .
